Anxiety
Anxiety Therapy
Maybe you are struggling with panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivy Disorder, or pervasive restlessness. Perhaps you’re tense most of the time and struggle to relax. Anxiety is one of my specialties and I am passionate about working with anxious patterns in people like you.
it often seems easier to avoid the cause of our anxieties and keep busy rather than confront the roots of our problems.
Unfortunately, what we avoid rarely goes away. Often it gains more influence over us as we consciously or unconsciously avoid it. Avoidance requires a lot of energy and vigilance. There can be a huge relief and shift from finally facing our shadows and unpacking our fears.
Strengthen Your Resources And Transform Your Fears
We will first evaluate and strengthen your resources to manage anxious feelings and symptoms. We will develop a set of calming responses to stressors. You will learn mindfulness techniques to stop perpetuating worries and to deflate your fears of the future. As these new behaviors become more comfortable and familiar, we will start to investigate the feelings and difficulties that are being avoided. We will increase your ability to tolerate and allow what is difficult and decrease patterns of avoidance.
“Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.”
