How I can help
Meet Dana
I’ve been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2009. (California LMFT 48632, Massachusetts LMFT 1412, Florida MT 5490)
I’ve practiced mindfulness meditation since 2000 and mindful movement since 1997. I’m patient, attentive, and kind. I’m also spunky, creative, and engaging. I am inspired by helping others awaken to their strengths and heal through their weaknesses.
I invite my clients to feel more in their bodies, a.k.a. Somatic Psychotherapy. We explore the energies of anxiety, love, anger and grief as physical sensations in addition to the content of our thoughts.
Our work together will invite you to love and accept yourself unconditionally

Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance reimbursement is only possible if you are a resident of California, Massachusetts or Florida, where I am licensed to provide psychotherapy. I am an out of network provider, meaning that I am not a member of any insurance networks.
This means that I require payment at time of service via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.
Many PPO health insurance plans offer out of network mental health benefits. I can prepare a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many of my clients use this method and get the majority of the cost reimbursed through their insurance. I can give you more advice as to how to manage this process.

My fee for individual sessions is $190.
My fee for couples sessions is $210.
I offer sliding scale fees for those in need. Please inquire.
Sessions are 50-55 minutes long.
Usually we start therapy by meeting once a week, then reduce to meeting every two weeks and eventually to once a month.
The amount of sessions and the duration of therapy depends on the severity of your symptoms, your progress and your goals.
Some people reach their goals in 6-10 sessions, others like the support of meeting regularly for months or years. We will figure out what is best for you.

Coaching focuses on the “how” of changing patterns and psychotherapy explores more the “why” of those patterns. Coaching tends to be more directive and results-oriented. Psychotherapy is more appropriate for working with trauma, anxiety, depression and more severe mental health symptoms.
I offer online coaching for themes such as drinking less alcohol, stress management, self-esteem and communication training for couples. Please contact me with questions specific to the work you would like to do together.

I have basic fluency in Brazilian Portuguese and can conduct therapy with a combination of Portuguese and English. I have a good understanding of Brazilian culture and can offer that perspective as well.
